Other Voices May Speak To Us – 05.06.2024

Moses chose twelve men to go and spy out the land of Caanan. I feel sure Moses was very careful in choosing these men. He didn’t say, “Eeny, meeny, miny, mo, you can stay and you can go.” He was in the will of God and operated by the wisdom of God. I feel sure he was expecting the best out of these men. But when they returned only two gave a positive report.

Evidently, the other ten lost faith and confidence in the promise of God. Here they were on the verge of entering into the Promised Land. Yet, the ten persuaded the people, and they, too, were filled with fear. So much so that they attempted to get someone to lead them back into the land of Egypt.

They didn’t just doubt Moses, they doubted God. The Bible tells us that doubt is sin. Within one day, they could have been in the Promised Land. Instead, they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until all the men who were 40 and above died off. Two were left, however; just Caleb and Joshua brought back a good report.

God may speak to us, urging us in one direction, while other voices may speak putting fear in our hearts. God’s Word is true and will never fail. We can trust it for our Salvation, our safety, our provision, and our destiny. Any negative thought, word, or suggestion from within or without should be cast down by the Word of God. You are already a winner in God’s eyes, so look up and live like it!
