If people are told something over and over, they often start believing it, even if it’s not true. What bothers me, though, are the preachers telling their congregants that they are going to fail, you just can’t help it, thus setting them up for a fall. The Bible does not support this thought.
Romans 6:1 says, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound, God forbid, how can we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?” John said, “If any man sin..”, not as you sin. Romans 7 shows the distinction between law and grace; man struggles to do right under the law, not under grace. Romans 8:1 proves this.
Surely, God who gives so “Great a Salvation” is able to keep us from falling. However, if one does fail, we have an advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous one. Jesus will do all He can to keep you in the Fold.
