“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?” (Matt. 7:22).
Some of the most scary words of Jesus are found in Matthew Chapter Seven where He spoke of some in the end time who would be turned away from entrance into Heaven. Evidently, they thought they were saved since they had preached and performed miracles in His name. This should cause each of us to look inward and be sure of our salvation.
The heart of man is very deceitful, and on its own, may not be trusted. Even the disciples, when Christ spoke at the Last Supper of one who would betray Him, all of them said, “Lord is it I?” We are told in the Scripture to judge ourselves that we may not be judged. The most important thing you can do today is to be sure your faith is secure, anchored in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
