“Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that entereth not by the door by the sheepfold, but climbeth up another way is a thief and a robber” (John 10:1). This was Christ’s answer to the Pharisees who had gotten so angry with Him they wanted to kill Him. They rejected Him as their Messiah and sought to get to God through rituals and forms, and teaching others to do the same. This did not end with them, but continues with others today. Jude 1:4 tells us men have crept in unawares, who were ordained (by the devil) to turn the grace of God into lasciviousness. We might call these “plants”. They may not know it, but they have a deceived spirit. These are the robbers, stealing the hearts of Christians away from the truth. This is why the scripture tells us to try the spirits to see whether they are of God. These can be identified by what they preach and teach. If they disagree with the Apostles’ doctrine, run from them quickly. Contend for the faith delivered to the first saints.
