Obedience Is The Evidence Of Our Heart Change – 7.12.2021

James said, “But wilt thou know, O vain man, faith without works is dead.” (James 2:20). He could have said, “Faith without obedience is dead,” and been just as faithful to the Word. For what are the works we are to do but obedience to His command? Of course, these works do not earn salvation, they accompany salvation. Our salvation is by grace, and so are all the other blessings God gives. Some today, however, have turned the grace of God into lasciviousness, supposing that, since we are under grace, we can be indifferent to the laws of God. They claim that grace is their free pass to heaven, no matter if they continue in their sins. Obedience to God is the only evidence you have that God has wrought a regenerating work in your heart. Paul said, “The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men; Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world…..” (Titus 2:11, 12). I ask you, if you don’t hate sin and knowing how much God gave to destroy Satan’s work, if you are not resisting it everyday, how do you know you are saved? Remember, “Faith without obedience is dead.” Eternity is waiting, be sure!

  1. Sanctification. It is an experience of salvation received by a believer who has his or her sins forgiven yet because of the root of evil or sinful nature remaining as spoken of in Romans 7: 14-25. This justified believer cannot keep victory over sin. He is always being overcome by sin. There is nothing but the blood of Jesus in his sanctifying power that can make us perfect in his sight. But, hallelujah, I Cindy Winkles Couch found out one day that we can have deliverance from this sinful nature that is within us and be sanctified, wholly and be preserved awaiting his coming. Wisdom, Righteousness. Sanctification. Redemption.
2 Thessalonians 2:12-13 reminds me since this grace has appeared to us God has been trying to teach us the danger of sin and warn us against worldly lusts that “war” against the soul. Living my life by Galatians 5:16-26. Sister Valerie, I love the Lord.
